Beyond the chambers of the National Assembly and the business of legislation, Hon. Kalejaiye Adeboye Paul, Ph.D., member representing Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency Lagos State continues to demonstrate that effective representation also means connecting with the people through culture, entertainment and shared moments of joy.
The lawmaker joined friends, colleagues, entertainers and admirers of Nigerian music icon John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, as the legendary Galala crooner celebrated 50 years on stage at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
Born and raised in Ajegunle, within Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, Daddy Showkey’s remarkable journey from the streets of Ajegunle to becoming one of Nigeria’s most recognised entertainers is a story of talent, resilience and the transformative power of entertainment.
It was therefore a celebration more than just a musical milestone; it was a celebration of Ajegunle talent and the creative spirit of Ajeromi-Ifelodun - a community that has continued to produce individuals who have made significant contributions to Nigerian culture and entertainment.
Hon. Kalejaiye, as the representative of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, believes in encouraging and supporting the development of such talents. His presence at the celebration underscores his commitment to a form of representation that recognises that the development of a constituency goes beyond infrastructure and legislation to include culture, entertainment, youth empowerment and the promotion of home-grown talents.

Hon. Kalejaiye attended the celebration alongside his Director-General of Campaign, Hon. Bashorun Ayoola, who is also the immediate Chairman of Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government.
