Fresh from coming top in the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primary election held in Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency on Saturday, May 16, the Representative of the Constituency in the National Assembly, the Hon. Paul Adeboye Kalejaiye, PhD has released a message of gratitude thanking everyone who made positive impact in the outcome.
"The support of Baba [Prince Rabiu] Oluwa made the difference. He stood his ground for me all through. So also was Yeye [Ireti Oluwa], she never wavered and I knew I was her choice from day one. Both Baba and Yeye were at Ugbewankwo on Saturday to vote for me. They endured until the election was finalized in my favour. I was moved.
To our two Council Chairmen and their deputies, I want to place on record my gratitude. Hon. Olu Akindipe's relentless efforts and series of meetings with critical groups and individuals in my honour, cannot go unnoticed. He stood as an unshakable wall.
We were well received by Hon. Olufemi Okeowo at his home to meet the Cornerstone Group. The reception was very nice and I thank him for his support.
My profound gratitude to our charismatic multiple chieftancy holder, Bashorun Fatai Ayoola. Need I say he was everywhere for me? Even when it was not convenient, he ensured he made our meetings. I do not think there is a word that I can put into context to describe how I feel. Him being on my side was all I needed. Everywhere I went to, outside our Local Governtment and dear state, once people heard he is on my side, they told me to go and sleep.
His Royal Majesty, Oba Fatai Aromire and His Royal Majesty, Oba Moroof Oluwa were marvelous. Their words of endorsement when we visited the palaces were reassuring. Those royal words acted as tonic to our campaign. I was reenergized by their unequivocal stand.
I also have words of appreciation for our two House of Assembly Members. I am aware of Sabur's many moves for me where he rallied people to support me and I am grateful to Hon. Olumoh for finding time for us to interface with his New Era Movement at such short notice.
I am indebted to our dedicated Apex Leaders in Ajeromi and Ifelodun. They all mobilized for my support and their efforts showed in the results.
How can I forget the tedious job done by other members of the KAP/Tinubu 2027 Re-election Campaign and the insights that we shared? But especially the deputy director-general, Hon. Wahab Adigun and the exceptional Hon. Fatai Ajidagba who is running for the state constituency I seat, which is my own constituency. I want to wish him the very best on Wednesday.
To our serving and past Councillors, serving and past Supervisors/Special Advisers, chieftains, energetic women singers, Trinity Market Association and other associations, political groups, Alhaji Tanko Auna and other leaders of ethnic nationalities, Berger Business Community, youth and women groups, volunteers etc, I say a very big thank you to you all. I saw all your selfless efforts.
And to my fellow members at all the wards, I owe you a debt of gratitude. How do I repay your support and solidarity? In the scorching sun in all the 11 venues, you endured the wait, you were resolute in ensuring my second term candidacy was not derailed. I watched videos across various wards of how you all were excited to queue for me. I dare say no loyalty can beat this. A lot of you left your petty trades, shops and some even skipped resumption at work because of Kalejaiye. I rededicate myself to serving you for the better. Rest assured that your support has not been taken for granted.
Sadly, I pay tributes to some of our supporters who were injured on Saturday in Mosafejo Ward. It was unfortunate and we couldn't see it coming. But they can take consolation in the fact that we got what we want in the end. This victory is for them.
To every other single person who were part of this journey, those who were supporting us on and off social media, those who were bold to be recognized with us within and outside our constituency, my gratitude is for life.
