Election day is a day when important National decisions are made, and it is a day when citizens get to elect their representatives, the February 25th election is not going to be different, there are no step-by-step guides or rules to follow on election day, however, there are guidelines to follow to have a hitch-free experience.
Elections come and go, and there have been elections since the return of Democracy in Nigeria, the 2023 election won't be different, the difference is the high hopes and general demand for a change in the way and manner the country is being run. And that is the simple explanation of an election, it is a channel to elect change makers.
Essential tips on Election Day
1. Make a plan to vote: In as much as you have ascertained your polling venue, it is a prerogative to decide when you will leave to do the necessary things to do to vote and how you will get to the venue. Know the hours of operation for your polling place and plan accordingly to avoid any potential long lines. With the trend of new voters, it is important to avoid long lines, so you won't burn out.

2. Research the candidates and issues: Take the time to research the candidates and their stances on the issues that are important to you. Consider the source of your information to ensure it is reliable and unbiased. Even on election day, you can still make a final resolve or switch who you will be voting for, this should be personal to you. You may wish to avoid arguments on election day, as not only your choice can cause a scene if voiced out.
3. Bring required identification: Ensure you have the required identification for the election, such as a Permanent voter's card, to avoid any issues when you arrive at the polling station. Remember No PVC, No election.

4. Be respectful: While voting can be an emotional and passionate experience, it is important to be respectful of others who may have different opinions. Follow the rules and instructions of the certified poll workers, and do not engage in any disruptive or aggressive behavior. Be a good Nigerian in thoughts and actions even on election day regardless of who you are supporting.
5. Encourage others to vote: As voting is an important civic duty, everyone who is eligible to vote should have the opportunity to do so. Encourage your friends, and family to vote by reminding them of the importance of their voice and the impact it can have on their community and the country. This should be a personal thing, not public, doing it publicly can be against the extant law of the land, and it might land you in trouble.
