Politics is a game of interest; the several interests trump voters' decisions as they go to the poll to cast their votes for their preferred candidates. I woke up to a piece of trending news on Twitter, which is name tagging Distinguished Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, I surf through the trends, and I saw people queuing online behind one Ireti Heebah Kingibe, candidate of the Labour Party, for FCT Senate. I laughed.
I later engaged a respected friend who will be voting in Benue State but choose to join the voice of the people calling Aduda wicked having spent over 10 years in the National Assembly, I took my time to make him understand the politics of Abuja and its environs. A politics in which Emirs, Chiefs, and Village heads send their stalwarts to tell residents who to vote for, certainly the PDP. Obviously, no wrong was committed by these actions of the traditional rulers.
For the records, Aduda is still the best choice for FCT, Senate, without fear and favor, I am for the All Progressive Congress, but for Abuja Senate, we may have to consider voting Aduda, why?

Reasons why you should Vote for Aduda for FCT Senate
1. Balancing Power: Since my entering Abuja, and studying her political attitude and falls, I learned that the Gbagyi people are the most cheated race in the Nigerian political system. They are driven from their land and an FCT is being built, where the indigenes are supposed to live like kings rather it is the visitors who are enthroned as kings. A vote for Aduda will help give more voice to the people, hope for a better living, and an enhanced system.
2. Access to Good Water: Distinguished Senator Tanimu Aduda has helped improve access to water across the metropolis, by drilling pipe-borne water, and standing Solar powered water tanks for the use of the community. This might seem cheap to those who don't have to toil to get water, but Abuja being a Semi landlocked area should give an insight into the view here. The only Usman Dam providing water for the FCT is majorly providing water for the minority-rich areas, forgoing the others, it is though clear that Abuja was built for the rich. 3. Sustained Peace in FCT: It takes the wisdom of a Leader like Aduda to improve the continued peace in FCT, it is no gain saying that Aduda is being referred to as Landlord, he deserves and earned the title. The relative peace Abuja is enjoying today is because Aduda knows how to pacify the indigenes from fomenting troubles. It is a fact, many of the residents are so angry they could not get state status and a Mayoral role in FCT.
4. Sense of Belonging in National Politics: Distinguished Senator Tanimu Aduda is the current Minority Leader of the Senate, a first of its kind for an Abuja resident. This is due largely to his return to the Senate. Over time, the position has always swung to the PDP members who hail from other regions, particularly the Southeast, and the Southwest or depending on which party rules the center, the opposition takes the minority.
The call for the exit of Aduda because he has spent more years in the National Assembly, is ill-hearted, borne out of hate largely against Aduda, and less of the Gbagyi people, and being orchestrated by the new and sudden lovers of the FCT, and maybe neophyte in the scheme of things when it comes to politics. If not, a student of politics knows that experience matters in a democratic system, let alone the legislative arm.

5. Human Capital Empowerment: Aduda with the time he has spent in the National Assembly has helped facilitated jobs for his constituents in various Government agencies, it requires a man with a connection, vision, and foresight to do such recommendations, Aduda has earned a name in the scheme of things in FCT, maybe in Nigeria at a closer look.
The Abuja people will not open their eyes and allow insects to perch in, No Abuja resident has been made FCT Ministers since the return to Democracy. What we are literally doing as a nation, is using the backhand to slap a group of persons and people. This action needs to stop if we are to be sincere to the people.
Thank God the Gbagyi people are peace-loving people, if it were to be like a region in Nigeria, they will have scattered everything. We ought to be thankful to God for the relative peace in FCT, and the harmonious living sustained here by the help of the indigenes instead of spearheading hate for Aduda.
Distinguished Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda needs to be returned as a Senator of the Federal Republic, and Insha Allah, he will get it. Enough of this sudden love for one Ireti, a love from social media likes of a candidate who is destined to come third in the Presidential election.
I am for a safer FCT, a more harmonious Abuja, and a more Prosperous indigene, even amid the disregard for their person by the power that is.
Vote Wisely!
