Happy Birthday & Retirement!!

When you joined the service of the National Assembly in the year 2004, I guess you never envisioned it in your mind that one day you would be able to climb up the very tall and fragile ladder of cadre to the pinnacle of your career ---I mean that coveted position of the Clerk to the National Assembly.

The analysis is that among your peers that were employed by the National Assembly for the same cadre at the same time in 2004, you were singled out by your creator to reach that envious position. Frankly speaking, only your creator not humans can do this for you!!

Looking back to your sojourn in office, especially within the short period you occupied the position of the Clerk to the highest lawmaking institution in the country, I'm a witness to testify that you came, you saw, and you conquered.

Firstly, you succeeded in making your signatures indelibly cast on the golden wall of fame in the National Assembly through various reforms and staff welfare packages instituted by your administration.

Specifically, I'm sure your administration will be greatly missed for your prompt payment of staff salaries, increment in salaries, payment of accumulated arrears of staff, completion of the National Assembly Clinic building, and building National Assembly Library of international standard, among others.

In addition, and very interestingly, in your career journey of success, you never disowned your people and community. Your case was never like the proverbial snake that crawled on the surface of a rock without any trace or impact of its movement. Your signatures were also obvious at home through employment opportunities for the youth, infrastructure that you facilitated to the community (Ilobu, Osun State), and some other community commitments that I might not be privy to.

Having said all that, this long list of your achievements is not complete without properly mentioning the role you play (playing) in my life. I must say that since that 'special Tuesday afternoon' in 2015 when you put a call to me in Ibadan from Abuja to immediately start coming to Abuja, my life has changed for the better. And, till today, you have not forsaken me.

Of course, I quite understand that you cannot do it all. Even God Almighty created us and has the power to do everything but will not do everything for us. I will forever appreciate you for not forsaking me at any time and at all times.

Baba mi, you deserve to pour the champagne and dance around for God has been especially kind to you.

It's not every individual who occupied that envious and delicate opposition will have a glorious exit from the service with no blemish as you are having today.

On this note, I join you to pour champagne of felicitation, happiness, and everlasting joy as you gloriously bow out of the service today which coincides with your birthday and Valentine's Day (day of love).

I know that you are only retiring from the National Assembly but not tired. Therefore I pray God Almighty will take you to the next higher level.

Tunde ooo!!

Happy birthday and happy retirement to you sir.
