You will recall a faction of the party does not recognize Governor Obaseki as the leader of the party, thereby doing otherwise.

The Igbinedion Peace committee is thereby empowered to select notable persons to bring an end to the crisis. Obaseki said "I consulted, and for the time being Chief Lucky Igbinedion the former Governor of the State to chair the peace committee of the party. He will select very notable party leaders from the Three Senatorial District to try and resolve all the issues that are lingering in our party."
