Governor Sanwo Olu open a $250m data center in Lagos

Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo Olu

The executive Governor of Lagos state, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo Olu as earlier today performed the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the $250m Kasi Cloud Hyperscale Data Centre, at the Leisure Land Theme Park Site along Maiyegun-Lekki beach road, off Lekki-Epe Expressway.

The Kasi Hyperscale Data Center which sits on land measuring 4 hectares is a first-of-its-kind, mass-scale data center and digital ecosystem platform company, which will bring world-class design and critical digital infrastructure services to Africa via Lagos.

The Governor further said, "the project when completed will provide interconnection and a data center platform for Nigeria to support digital ecosystems and drive internet access to over 200m people.

He further said, the project is in line with his administration agenda, "It is also very much in line with one of the pillars of our T.H.E.M.E.S agenda, specifically, the ‘M’ which stands for “Making Lagos A 21st Century Economy”.

Let me, therefore, say without fear of contradiction that we are already firmly on the way to being a hub for innovation, technology, and talent that can compete globally. The groundbreaking event, which took place today, is yet another milestone step on that journey.
