THE AGONY OF THE OPPRESSED

The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them -- Karl Marx

It's not new or strange that some set of people are subjected to oppression in Nigeria, and they've been oppressed by the majority or some set of tyrannical leaders and some bigoted demagogue in a given society.

Oppressions are in different forms, we have political oppression, social oppression, etc.

The oppressed have been subjected into the deluge of sufferings, the most awful and despicable part of it is the political oppression. This is ubiquitous in Nigeria, especially to the minorities in some instances, or to the majorities that are not united in decision making.

Oppression did not start today, it's like a second fiddle, and invention to the slave trade of the past centuries.

It's disheartening that the minorities are been treated like the second class citizens in their country, state and environments, they have no voice, they have been silent by their oppressors, they are only living on the grace of God, while their communities have been jettison by their unwanted boss, they have no access to quality education, no access to good road, no access to social amenities and they are left with the dilapidated system.

They groan in pain but what can they do when they have been incapacitated by the power that supposed to lift them out from their agony.

I have been thinking of why the oppressors lack golden heart, why have they not been conversant with their Quran and Bible why have they upgraded themselves to God's level, they are full of themselves, they are vainglorious of themselves, they are enmeshed in self aggrandizement.

God created us to be of help to one another, why have the power mongers held some to perpetual sufferings, why have they turned some gaggle of people to servitude, they should know that it's only God that has the power to do and undo. They should have a rethink and follow God's path, they should rejig from this sardonic, devilish and sinister act, God is not in support of the wicked.

It's appalling that people are still practising this barbaric act at this neoteric period, the oppressors should look before they leap, because God has promised the oppressed that his coming to their rescue.

I call upon the oppressed ethnic minorities of Nigeria and any State to stand up now and fight fearlessly and peacefully for their rights. History is on their side, God is on their side. For the Holy Quran says in Surah 42 Vs 41, “All those who fight, when oppressed incur no guilt, but Allah shall punish the oppressor." Come the day.
