All roads leads to Federal polytechnic Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state, on friday when the student judicial council held her First historic judicial summit with the theme "Reinvigorating human rights for the 21st century" held at the institution's conference hall.


The summit which was well attended by government dignitaries like the Ekiti state Governor Dr. John Kayode Fayemi ably represented by Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and student matters, The wife of the Governor, Erelu Bisi Fayemi ably represented by Special adviser to the first lady on gender and female matters.



Other dignitaries at the summit include Men of the Nigeria Bar Association, Barr. Banjo Ayenakin who doubles as the judicial council patron, Barr. Kehinde Aladedutire, ably represented by his Secretary Isaiah O. Aladesanwa, Barr Adoloju, Chief judge and council members from different institutions including Federal university of technology, Akure, Ekiti state university, Rufus Giwa polytechnic, Owo, Adeyemi college of education Ondo, and others.

The summit stress the need to reinvigorating human rights in this age where right of persons are not considered, placing opium to the abuse of the girl child through means of rape, sex trafficking, and other abuse. It also remind the abuse against students in regards to Police, EFCC, Army and DSS over the years.

The summit was an eye opener to frontiers of Human rights activists like Femi falana, Dr. Martin Luther king Jr, Mahatma Gandhi, and Gani fawenhmi as contained by papers received from one of the Guest speakers, Kehinde Aladedutire.

The summit also put to rest the issue "women are meant for the Kitchen and other rooms in the home as said by Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari",  as the council Chief judge happen to be a lady. Indeed what a man can do a woman can do better and best, this can be said of the Chief judge who made the summit go well with support from his team.

Presentations of Awards

The summit was also used as means of appreciation to those who attend and men who has done good deeds to the society in regards to human rights, awardee include, The Ekiti state Governor and his wife, Guest speakers, former student leaders, Business men, the overall best intending Barrister and others just to mention a few.


Induction of Barristers

Over 38 new barrister was inducted with their Chambers, which include Lagos chamber, Afe Babalola chambers and others.

The event was colourful and well ordered, reacting to the turn out of student at the event, the chief judge, Justice Fakinlede Kemisola has this to say; I am overwhelmed by the number of attendees, the Ekiti state Governors presence, the Ekiti state Governors wife, Lawyers and co student judicial concil team from other institutions across Nigeria.

Dinner party

The dinner was fun filled as the Chief judge could not imagine how the summit turn out to be great more than expectations. The dinner which start around 8:00pm was well attended by the institution Tiers of Government, led by the the Student union Government President popularly known as Alubarika and in his delegation is the Senate president, General Secretary, Senators and others.

The event was captivating as the Students union Social director being the M.C, he recieved accolades by his master class of handling events.
Food served include; Turkey, ponmo sauce, wine and bottled water served as drinks.

The event set a road map for women involvement in politics and support the saying, women are Nation builder.
